Is she naughty or nice?

IMG_2512eThanksgiving night Maisie received an email video from Santa.  She was delighted with her message from Santa and also very happy to find out that she wasn’t on the naughty list.  This is Maisie’s third year receiving a video from Santa and I love that she still gets a thrill from the videos.

I mentioned before that I really wasn’t feeling Thanksgiving this year and as it was just five of us, Eammon, Maisie and I along with my parents, we enjoyed a very simple holiday meal.  For Thanksgiving dinner we dined on my Spice Rubbed Turkey with Cognac Gravy, chestnut stuffing, roasted asparagus, oven roasted potatoes, plain baked sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce.  For dessert I did make something new, well sort new as it’s an adaptation of my Rhubarb Crisp.  What I did was to bring in more of the seasonal flavors with the addition of apples and cranberries while also making it “safe” for Maisie and her newly found food allergies.  I posted the recipe for Apple, Cranberry & Rhubarb Crisp over on Cook Lisa Cook so just click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.

  2. For a simple dinner, it sounds pretty amazing and hard to make. Wow. Girl, you got talent.

Love the Santa video idea. Kenzie told me I wasn't doing enough for Maylin in the Santa department. She said she was going to have to take over to make Christmas fun for her.....sheesh.

  3. Um, so your "simple" dinner makes me embarrassed that I'm planning to serve the Young family baked spaghetti when they come to our house for dinner in a couple of weeks. LOL! Your dinner sounded fantastic! Maisie looks very happy to find out that she is on the nice list.
