One year ago today

Maisie Friday, November 3, 2006 was one of the most wonderful days ever as we received our referral of Wan Chun Miao, the most adorable cue ball cutie ever!! Seeing Maisie's referral picture still makes me smile and tear up at the same time, such a sweet little face but with such big sad eyes. The fact that her shirt sports a London double decker bus still cracks me up, so appropriate seeing that Eammon is from London. CCAA made a perfect match.

MaisieWave I remember that it wasn't until the next day when we received a second picture, one of her waving, that I really became anxious and just couldn't think of anything other than traveling and having my little girl in my arms. We would have 36 long, yet busy days before that happened but Oh, was it ever worth the wait.

My other great memory from a year ago is all the wonderful people who shared in our excitement and joy. I've gone back and read all the comments from our referral day and everyone was so supportive and sweet and I thank all of you for being part of our day and especially those who are still following along with us a year later, hugs to all of you.

  1. Happy Anniversary! I will admit to being a little weepy as I remember back one year. Today is Kai's birthday as well...so we have lots of celebrating to do.

    Hugs

  7. I've seen some other 1 yr anniversaries being celebrated on other blogs. And then I have to stop and think cuz it just amazes me that it's been a year already. Such a contradiction for those of us still waiting. Cuz it seems like time is dragging by but then we think "Has it really been a year already since Maisie's referral? Wow! Time really flies."

Happy Referral Day! It'a so cool to see how much she's changed.

I have to say that Maisie and things you tell about her have really made us smile. She really has grown and turned into a wonderful little girl. It doesn't hurt that she has two great parents ;)

  19. OMG, Lisa, I can't believe it's been a year since your referral and even longer since the 1st Salt Lake trip!

Even with all this waiting, it seems to have gone by in a blink. I bet with Maisie home, time is going even faster for you.

Once Lisa W and I have our little ones, there is definitely a reunion trip in order!
