Growing Gummy Bears

This morning Maisie and I did our home school work and to finish up we decided to do a fun little science experiment from her Science Projects Book.

IMG_0360eReading the directions on her gummy bear experiment.

IMG_0362eMaisie measured the length & width of the gummy bear.

IMG_0363eMaisie recorded her gummy bear as 2cm long and 1cm wide.

IMG_0366eShe then traced her “before” gummy bear.

IMG_0371eMaisie, quite pleased with her prediction that her wee little green gummy bear will grow overnight.  She wonders though, how big it will get?

IMG_0373eAfter measuring and tracing Maisie reads her directions and then adds her gummy bear to a glass of water.

IMG_0374eLooking at it in the water, she sees some little bubbles.

IMG_0377eOh the dilemma, what to do with all the extra supplies?

IMG_0382eHer mouth filled with the extra gummy bears, Maisie checked on her experiment.

Tomorrow morning we’ll see if Maisie’s prediction was correct and if so, just how big her gummy bear grew.  I know, such a cliffhanger post so I know you will be clicking back often just waiting on the outcome of Maisie’s experiment.

To keep your mind off the surprise outcome of Maisie’s experiment you can always do a bit of cooking.  To tempt you, some Pumpkin Blondies.  Yesterday morning Maisie noticed that some of the leaves are actually starting to change so Fall is in the air and these Pumpkin Blondies just capture the taste of Autumn.  Click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.IMG_7572
