Let the celebrations begin

Maisie’s sixth birthday is Monday.  How she can be turning six already is beyond me as it feels like it was just a few months ago when we first laid eyes on our cue ball cutie and then had her placed in our arms as a scared little 14-month old.  The years have seemed to fly and Maisie is the light of our lives…but she’s growing up too quickly!  I know that I can’t stop time and I do love watching her grow up but I sometimes wish that I could keep her my little Maisie Miao Miao forever.

Since I can’t stop time and birthdays happen, we celebrate!  To include all her friends we have a number of celebrations planned.  Today was Maisie’s first little party and this one was with her USA Level 3 gymnastics teammates.  Maisie requested, and we made, vanilla cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting and sprinkled with hot pink decorating sugar sprinkles.  During snack time Maisie’s teammates sang happy birthday to her and then they all enjoyed the cupcakes.  Not one single picture of the cupcakes but that’s okay as they’ll be making an appearance again at her next party tomorrow morning.

IMG_1041eMy sweet Maisie loves the chalk bowl and I swear that she bathes in it at every practice.

It was a fun and quick little party to mark Maisie’s birthday and for her to celebrate and share with her teammates.

Well it’s not cupcakes but it is a new recipe over on Cook Lisa Cook.  If you’ve ever enjoyed the creamy and slightly sweet coleslaw at KFC you’ll love this Copycat “KFC” Coleslaw.  Just click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.IMG_0676e2

Love that she loves the chalk bowl. At least you know where she has been if she leaves white prints about the house!

  2. Happy Birthday again, Maisie! And Lisa, I know what you mean about wanting to just stop time and keep her little. I wish the same thing about Rachel. Time really does seem to speed up more and more with each passing year! Looking forward to pics from tomorrow's party...
