Sleep…please!

Good sleep in our home is often tough to come by.  Neither Maisie nor I are particularly good sleepers and once up during the night it’s never for minutes but for hours.  In addition Maisie goes though bouts of night terrors and though she doesn’t remember the hours and hours that she’s “up” during the night it certainly affects her the next day and I of course am exhausted too from being up most of the night.

IMG_9924eTuesday night into Wednesday Maisie had a really bad night waking up kicking and screaming from what I think were just bad dreams as they didn’t seem like her usual night terrors and didn’t last nearly as long but it still took over an hour for her to finally settle down enough to be able to drift back to sleep…but a fitful it was.  I know come morning I was exhausted and though she denied it and didn’t remember being up for so long during the night, she was one tired little girl.  Needless to say, Wednesday was a ROUGH day for my little girl and come 6:45PM she, as you can tell, had brushed her teeth and was sound asleep in bed.

Sleep Maisie Sleep My wish for Maisie is written all over the above picture (Enlarge the picture to see the words.  Made on black-text.com.) but unfortunately her peaceful sleep was short lived as last night was filled with full blown terrors. I know that I got less than two hours of sleep and I’m guessing that Maisie’s working today on less than six so I’m keeping everything crossed that today is an okay day for my little girl.
