And so it goes...

We had a fun Labor Day potluck with a few of our library play mates along with their Moms and Dads. All the children played in Maisieland and had fun splashing around in the pool. Moms and Dads had fun too and hopefully we'll invite the Dads again soon as it was a fun change to our regular Monday play date.

Eammon is so busy with work and Maisie and I are always busy, busy, busy with activities as it keeps us occupied, engaged and out of trouble, so all of us are ready for a much needed break which starts tomorrow when Eammon, Maisie and I board a plane heading to fun, sun, relaxation and all-inclusive indulgence in Jamaica. Luckily for us and the island, hurricane Felix passed by to the south and is quite a ways west of the island now, so hopefully we're in for good weather. Of course we can't have it easy in preparing for a trip...Nope, somebody or in our case everyone has to be sick. This morning I had to pass up lunch which Trixie actually cooked, herself, but more importantly I had to pass up meeting little Claire as I didn't want to get her sick. Then as I was driving back from the my appointment I received a call from Maisie's teacher letting me know that Maisie was having a rough day, crying on and off and on again and that I might want to come get her early. So I picked Maisie up and she seemed really out of sorts. I brought her home and she ate a little bit then I put her down for a nap. When she awoke she was really warm and sure enough was running a temp of 102. Since we're leaving tomorrow morning I thought it best to take her in and have her checked out. Sure enough she too is sick so she and I have nice meds which along with the warm Jamaican sun will hopefully help us feel wonderful. Then just so he wasn't the only healthy one, Eammon let me know that he too has the same symptoms and it's something that's been going around his office...great!

Well I'm packed, ready and set for a hopefully stress-free, carefree week on the beach, sans computer. Hope everyone has a great week and I'll see you on the flip side with hopefully lots of wonderful Maisie pics. Ta for now.

Safe travels, feel better (all y'all), and no hurricanes unless they come in a pretty glass with an umbrella.
And I'd like to call it wishful thinking - Memorial Day starts the summer. Labor Day ends it. Oh, to be back in May again, with a full summer of sun ahead of us!
    See you in October!
