Almost

Yesterday when I dropped Maisie at school, her teacher Miss Lisa was putting up a new cork board display showing a graph of how many deciduous teeth each child in the class has lost and when I arrived today to teach sign language the board was complete.

photo EMaisie is 2 years younger than some of her classmates so it’s no wonder that she’s not up there with the number of teeth lost but it’s interesting that the the two boys, who are the same age as all the other girls, are holding on to their teeth a lot longer than the girls.

photo (2) eMaisie hasn’t yet lost any teeth (and her dentists thinks it will be next winter before she starts) but Miss Lisa didn’t want to leave her without anything on her line so she cut out a special “almost!” tooth for my little full-set cutie-patootie…So sweet!

Today after school Maisie had a CAT scan of her sinuses to see if we can find a reason for all her nasal congestion.  Maisie was a bit scared but was very brave and stayed perfectly still for the scan.  It will be next week before we see the doctor and get the results but I hope that soon we will have some answers and a solution so that she can start feeling better.

I guess it’s a good thing that Maisie still has all her teeth as she’s been munching on one of my newest treats for her, Crunchy Fudgy Heart Bites.  They’re no-bake, super simple to make, Maisie “safe”, chocolaty, sweet, healthy and in cute little heart shapes so perfect for Valentine’s Day.  I know that they’d be a hit with any child, big or little as neither Maisie nor Eammon could stop eating them.

  2. Maisie's teacher is the sweetest! Bri's teeth are popping out like crazy and I actually wish they would slow down. She is going to be gumming her food soon! Ack!

I am getting an MRI today myself. Hoping Miss M gets some answers soon.

  3. I definately hope they find something for you! Good luck. Let us know.

The tooth chart is cute. I have a son who is 13 who can't get braces yet because he is still holding on to baby teeth. He is quiet annoyed by it.

I hope you get some answers for your little cutie!

I'm going to have to try those treats. Z LOVES chocolate. I'd love to have a healthy chocolatey treat for him.
Thanks for the cookie dough tip. I'm definitely going to do that!

  5. Poor Maisie with her sinuses! Being a former gymnast myself, I wonder if the chalk at the gym has anything to do with it, or all the dust in the carpet there? Gyms aren't the cleanest places.

  6. Hope you find out soon why Maisie isn't feeling well, maybe food allergies? She is adorable by the way.

  8. So sweet of Maisie's teacher to put a little "almost" tooth on the board for Maisie! What a small class, too - how wonderful. :) I hope that the CT scan will help find a good answer for Maisie's sinuses.
