First play date of the year

Maisie was a happy girl today as she had a “perfect” Maisie day, practice time at the gym followed by a play date with friends.

We haven’t seen our friends Lisa & Briana and Kathy & Chani since back in October when we last got together for our annual day at the maize maze and we’ve been missing them so it was great fun today to spend the day at Lisa & Briana’s home for a play date.  As usual the little girls were off playing in Briana’s awesome playroom and the big girls got a chance to chat and catch up.

IMG_2918eThough I brought along “Maisie safe” pizza for Maisie to eat, Lisa made some great little pizzas for lunch using refrigerator biscuit dough which was a simple and brilliant idea.

With the girls all now in school and with their various activities it’s difficult finding time to get together but each time that we do see each other it’s always fun and we miss them between visits.

First play date of the year and first recipe of the year posted over on Cook Lisa Cook.  Granola bars are a huge go-to snack for Maisie so after a bit of experimenting I have made bars which she adores.  Oatmeal, Cashew & Chocolate Granola Bars are healthy, delicious, simple to make and “Maisie safe” so they are now a staple in our home.  Click on the picture for the recipe.
