A-Maisie-ing Maisie and friends at the maize maze 2011

Sunday morning Maisie and I met up with Lisa, Doug & Briana and Kathy, Matt & Chani for our fourth annual Cagle’s day where we enjoyed a day of farm fun and getting lost in the maize maze.  As always it was a fun day for the girls and the adults.

IMG_1624eWe arrived when the farm opened and it was quite chilly so we bundled up in winter jackets, hats & gloves.

IMG_1644eBriana, Chani and Maisie ready to enter the maize maze.  Each year I look at the ready to start the maize maze picture and am amazed at how much the girls have grown.  Here they are last year and in 2009 and from our first year way back in 2008 when they were oh-so wee.

IMG_1758eOnce out of the maize maze we made our way over to the jumping pillow where the girls had a blast.

IMG_1756eI have no idea how Maisie gets her body into that position.

IMG_1749eShe catches such great air.

IMG_1751eShe did it over and over.

IMG_1751e1Having fun.

IMG_1758eMaking it look oh-so easy.

IMG_1749e Loving every minute of it!

IMG_3727 O e[2]I had to add this picture, one of my favorites from when we visited Cagle’s in 2008.  Maisie’s first year on the jumping pillow and a picture of things to come.

IMG_1764e Next stop was the pony ride where the now big girls only needed Mom & Dad for the actual money but they took it from there.

IMG_1767eEven though it was just a pony ride, Maisie loved being back on a horse as it has been months since her last time on a horse back at horseback riding camp.

IMG_1786eExcited and ready for the hayride.

IMG_1791eCuties, we asked them for hugs and to put their heads together.

IMG_1800eWe watched as sheepdogs herded sheep into a pen and then as the dogs herded the cows up to our wagon.

IMG_1816eAfter the hayride it was time to feed the goats

IMG_1826eand the cows too.

IMG_1858e Considering that it was the day before Halloween there weren’t many pumpkins still for sale but the girls had fun posing and playing around those that remained.

IMG_1890eAn open field and Maisie was head over heels happy after another wonderful day with friends at Cagle’s.

After our time at Cagle’s we all headed out for lunch.

Another fun day with friends and great memories all around.

It’s another cold night here in Georgia so it was soup for dinner.  It was a bit like a restaurant though as we each enjoyed a different soup.  Maisie had Udon Soup, Eammon ate a recently made new soup for us, Roasted Garlic & Potato Soup.  I have taken pictures of the soup but I still need to write the post so watch for that one as this soup is delicious!  Finally, I happily enjoyed a bowl of Mulligatawny Soup which I had earlier packaged and frozen, so a quick thaw and dinner was ready.  Just click on the picture to be taken to the Mulligatawny Soup recipe.
