Sleep…please….sleep…please…sleep

photo eSleep for my little Maisie is still so difficult as she’s still waking up for several hours each night due to congestion.  How she makes it through her busy & demanding days of school and gymnastics practice is just amazing but she is tired.  Maisie’s congestion has improved some since we removed refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup and then yesterday she finished her 30 day course of Augmentin.  Unfortunately things still aren’t right so I’m hoping that tomorrow when she visits the ENT, he’ll be able to look at her CT-scan and have some answers.  This congestion thing is getting really old and the girl needs to breathe and sleep better.

Today I posted my Improv Cooking Challenge recipe over on Cook Lisa Cook.  This month all the participating bloggers were asked to make any recipe of their choosing which included the two required ingredients, potatoes & cheese.  I knew immediately what I was going to make as this Loaded Potato & Buffalo Chicken Casserole recipe has been a favorite in our home for a few years and as I haven’t made it in ages nor have I ever posted the recipe to my blog, well it was time to make it again and post the recipe.  Just click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.

  1. Hi there, just a thought...wondered if you'd encased her mattress and her pillow in the allergy cases (covering the mattress with duct tape!)...dust mites are brutal on congestion!!
    Good luck with it.
    Snick :)

  6. You don't know me but I have followed your blog a really long time. I have a 7 year old from China and remember your referral picture well:) I just wanted to say that I recently developed an intolerance to sugar and even the artificial sugars trigger me. I don't know if you allow any splenda or that type of thing in her diet but if so maybe you could try to eliminate that as well and see how she does.

    1. Hi Tracy, Thanks for following along with us all these years. I do not give Maisie any artificial sweeteners and she really only eats whole foods so no chemicals either. Right now her only sugars come from honey, agave & coconut palm sugar. Thanks though for the suggestion, I appreciate all the help I can get.

    2. I dont give my kids artificial sugars either so I figured you didn't. Just to clarify though-ALL sugar/sweeteners trigger me....honey, fruit, syrup etc as well as the real thing and artificial. Probably not her problem but thought I would clarify since the things you mentioned would be on my list of things I can not have....or shouldn't have....LOL
