Meeting new friends before the meet

Just a quickie post tonight because I’m knackered and Maisie’s sound asleep cuddled next to me in bed as I type and I swear that I’m on a connection that’s slower than dial-up…oh give me strength!

Maisie and I are in Tennessee for the weekend at Wilderness at the Smokies.  Tomorrow night is her gymnastics meet, her first ever travel meet…oh so fun!  She and I came up for the weekend and tonight we met up with Jennifer, her husband and their two daughters Sophie & Maddie.  Jennifer and I have been reading each others blogs and corresponding for a couple years now but even though we both live in Georgia we’re far enough apart that we’ve never had the opportunity to meet.  So, now that we’re hours and hours from home in another state, we finally got to meet.

Like Maisie, Maddie is a little gymnast and her gym is one of the host gyms for this Freedom Fest Meet.  Maddie and Maisie are competing in different sessions as Maddie is USA 4 and Maisie is USA 3.  Hopefully they will both have a great meet.

It was really nice to finally meet Jennifer and her family and I just love how blogs and the internet have made meeting new friends so easy and fun.

New recipe over on Cook Lisa Cook and this was a Crazy Cooking Challenge recipe as participating bloggers went in search of the ultimate chocolate chip cookie.  My entry was a slight adaptation of a cookie my bloggy pal Colleen posted and trust me, they are awesome!  I adore gingersnaps but make them Chocolate Chip Gingersnaps and you have an over the top winning cookie!  Click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.IMG_0551e2
