Yeah, you can stop laughing now...

Yes you know who you are, Tiffany, Julie, all my friends up north and everyone else who knows my loathing of anything white and cold falling from the sky.

P1160002 It's snowing in Atlanta and according to Deb, who stopped over with LiLi & Ian for a quick play date this afternoon, the grocery stores are heaving with people in panic mode stocking up with bread, eggs, milk, ice cream and whatever else they need. I mean it's important to stock up because I'm sure all their cupboards are bare and we are expecting maybe up to 1/2-inch of snow so they may be house bound until...gee, tomorrow morning!! Yes, I know I'm being sarcastic but even though I don't like the snow, I grew up in New England and 1/2-inch of snow doesn't make a New Englander blink let alone slow them down or send then to the grocery in panic mode.

As far as tonight, I had no where that I needed to go and now that Maisie is tucked in tight and sleeping, I'm happy to cuddle up on the sofa with a blanket and the heat of my laptop to keep me warm and just pretend that the white stuff out there doesn't exist. The good thing about living in the south is that most likely by the time I have to go out tomorrow, all the snow will just be a distant memory.

  2. LOl!!! Dan is stopping at the grocery on his way home from his closing :D Mu little Guangxi Girl loved it for all of about 5 minutes and then decided she was "fr-ee-zing!" I know you can see her saying that :D We'll have to get together tomorrow (since Maisie won't be going to school ;D) and take pictures of the girls making snowangels!

  4. Snow in Atlanta??? What is going on, man?!

Please please get a picture of Maisie in the snow if there's any left tomorrow. Rose and Marie will be in absolute heaven if I can print out pictures of Maisie, Tess, AND Eliza in the snow, they just love snow.

  8. LOL! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!

Glad you're home snuggled up...or by now back out and about with your sweetie hoping you've had your one snowfall for the year.

The reaction of those around makes me laugh but hey, this is coming from someone whose mayor called in the army one time to dig us out of a 4' snowfall. Yes...we were the laughing stalk of the country and 5+ years later they still bring it up.

Enjoy! Hot chocolate is perfect for a snowy day.

  9. I totally agree, I hate snow too and I have about 6 inches in my yard. Grew up in Idaho, it ruined it for me. What cracked me up(just as it did you) are the people in a panic over 1/2 inch. Like you said, its our perspective. Here is to a speedy melt.

  10. Hey Lisa!

I come from Cardiff and I tell you what if we ever have snow here everything comes to a standstill. All the offices shut and send their staff home. The last time we had a serious snowfall was 1981!!!
