Yes you know who you are, Tiffany, Julie, all my friends up north and everyone else who knows my loathing of anything white and cold falling from the sky.
It's snowing in Atlanta and according to Deb, who stopped over with LiLi & Ian for a quick play date this afternoon, the grocery stores are heaving with people in panic mode stocking up with bread, eggs, milk, ice cream and whatever else they need. I mean it's important to stock up because I'm sure all their cupboards are bare and we are expecting maybe up to 1/2-inch of snow so they may be house bound until...gee, tomorrow morning!! Yes, I know I'm being sarcastic but even though I don't like the snow, I grew up in New England and 1/2-inch of snow doesn't make a New Englander blink let alone slow them down or send then to the grocery in panic mode.
As far as tonight, I had no where that I needed to go and now that Maisie is tucked in tight and sleeping, I'm happy to cuddle up on the sofa with a blanket and the heat of my laptop to keep me warm and just pretend that the white stuff out there doesn't exist. The good thing about living in the south is that most likely by the time I have to go out tomorrow, all the snow will just be a distant memory.
Hey! What's all that white stuff? :o)

LOl!!! Dan is stopping at the grocery on his way home from his closing :D Mu little Guangxi Girl loved it for all of about 5 minutes and then decided she was "fr-ee-zing!" I know you can see her saying that :D We'll have to get together tomorrow (since Maisie won't be going to school ;D) and take pictures of the girls making snowangels!
ReplyDeleteOH NO!!! I hope you have enough blankets, mayo, gas, pink stuff.
ReplyDeleteHee hee.
Snow in Atlanta??? What is going on, man?!
ReplyDeletePlease please get a picture of Maisie in the snow if there's any left tomorrow. Rose and Marie will be in absolute heaven if I can print out pictures of Maisie, Tess, AND Eliza in the snow, they just love snow.
A snowy reminder of times living further north. Hope it melts and the sun is shining once again.
ReplyDeleteKeep smilin!
We love the white stuff here in Utah!!! We really need to plan a Utah bloggy meeting when there is snow when Maisie, Marie and Rose can experience playing in the white stuff!
ReplyDeleteWOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!
ReplyDeleteThe kids have a snow day today - it turned into ice in my town.
Yes it so funny, being a northerner and all, but when there are no sand/salt trucks - whatcha gonna do???
HAVE A SNOW DAY!!
Check out my blog - I went a step further and video taped it!
LOL! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're home snuggled up...or by now back out and about with your sweetie hoping you've had your one snowfall for the year.
The reaction of those around makes me laugh but hey, this is coming from someone whose mayor called in the army one time to dig us out of a 4' snowfall. Yes...we were the laughing stalk of the country and 5+ years later they still bring it up.
Enjoy! Hot chocolate is perfect for a snowy day.
I totally agree, I hate snow too and I have about 6 inches in my yard. Grew up in Idaho, it ruined it for me. What cracked me up(just as it did you) are the people in a panic over 1/2 inch. Like you said, its our perspective. Here is to a speedy melt.
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI come from Cardiff and I tell you what if we ever have snow here everything comes to a standstill. All the offices shut and send their staff home. The last time we had a serious snowfall was 1981!!!
Debbie
I came across your blog today and just wanted to say hi. I hear you all might be getting another inch or so of the fluffy stuff tomorrow?
