Cookies with Grandma

Tuesday morning I had an appointment so I left a Maisie & Grandma home together with a cookie mix which was wheat, egg & dairy free so “safe” for Maisie and her newly found food allergies.

IMG_2421eI was out while Maisie and Grandma mixed, stirred and baked the cookies but once I got home the cookies were cool so it was time to decorate.  It was nice to find that the cookie icing, decorating sprinkles and sugar crystals which I had in the house were also “safe” for Maisie.

IMG_2428eMy cutie patootie thinking about her first taste of the frosted cookie.  She actually loves the cookies and I have to say, they’re not bad at all so we’ll be making them again.

Though “safe” for Maisie and she has eaten it, it’s not one of her favorites but it is one of ours, Rum Cured Salmon.  This is a simple recipe which requires no cooking what-so-ever.  Click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.

  1. Awe, making cookies with Grandma is like a rite of passage. Love the pictures of the two of them together. So glad Maisie also gives the GF cookies a thumbs up. You know, we are trading this holiday season, you and I. Last year Linlee was still gluten free and dairy free. We let her off the diet in the spring and she seems to be doing okay. This will be the first Christmas in two years that I can make regular sugar cookies with her.
