I'm sick and tired...

Literally. I have been suffering from insomnia for almost 2 months now and let me tell you, getting less than 4 hours of sleep per night sucks and so does Lunesta. Yes, I have tried Ambien too and no, I don't drink any caffeine and I even avoid beverages listed as decafe. I do though sometimes enjoy my favorite herbal tea but that shouldn't be impeding my sleep. On top of that I have a sinus infection, double ear infection as well as Costochondritis. So, I can't breathe, smell, taste, hear or sleep. I am extremely dizzy and every bone, joint and muscle in my body feels like I have the worst case of the flu ever. Only 3 more days of Levaquin and who knows on the Antivert. Amazing all these meds that cause sleepiness, knock me out so that I can't really function, but don't allow me to sleep...AAAHHHHH! OK, another whinge over.

Update on the adoption: CCAI announced that on 10/4, they received 81 child matches which included all families with a March 2005 LID. Congrats to everyone who received their referral. We're still hoping to be on track for a February 2006 referral. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Update on the nursery: Nothing, nada, zip, zilch...haven't done a thing (see whinge above).

  4. Awwwww.
    Poor you!
    I hope it gets better soon.
    The only idea I have is have a nice warm bath before bed. It can't hurt. Don't if you don't want to though.
    Take care and sending healing, sleepy thoughts your way.

  6. Oh no, so sorry to hear you're feeling cruddy AND not sleeping. Ugh, that's a lethal one-two punch. I'm a really terrible sleeper also, so I feel your pain. Hope you can find something (anything!) that works. Poor girl. :-( I'll keep my eyes open for anything that might work and I'll ask all of my friends if they know anything also (I swear between all of us we've tried every drug authorized for sale in the U.S.)(and maybe a few that aren't, heh heh).

    Take care of yourself!!! I've been missing your blog posts and comments and was wondering where you were. {{{hugs}}}

    Oh, and I agree with what Lindsey says about Benadryl. That stuff knocks me out when nothing else can.

  13. Oh Lisa! You poor little thing! Take care of yourself! Hang in there... I can't even imagine how miserable you are feeling right now. How about warm milk? Or reading? That usually works for me.

    Hang in there : (

    My name is Chris Brown and i would like to show you my personal experience with Levaquin.

    I am 50 years old. Have been on Levaquin for 21 days now. Started feeling achilles tendon pain 5 days after starting levaquin. Physician and pharmacy NEVER provided information about this side effect, as the prescribing information states they should. I never made the connection that an antibiotic could cause this side effect so I finished the regimen. Six months later, including three months of physical therapy, walking better, though still feel occassional pain. Fault is with physician and pharmacist. Levaquin is an important drug for fighting infections, but should be prescribed second line. There are other proven options to try first. Indiscriminate use by physicians is causing needless side effects and dramtically increasing resistance problems.

    I have experienced some of these side effects-
    Achilles tendon damage, wrist pain

    I hope this information will be useful to others,
    Chris Brown
