9369 ~ Seriously!!!

Yep, I’m complaining again as our pollen count is off the freakin’ charts.  On a scale where a count over 120 is considered extremely high with warnings of avoiding outdoor activity…well what do you do when the count is pushing 10,000?  I don’t even suffer from environmental allergies yet my eyes have been streaming, breathing is difficult and my head is just throbbing.  The pollen is crazy and no rain is in the forecast.  Just wondering if tomorrow we’ll break 10,000.

photo (2)aI mentioned previously that we were scheduled to see the ENT again regarding Maisie’s congestion.  That visit was last Friday and here she was being silly modeling for me as she waited for the doctor.  The doc looked at her CT scan and other than the infection in her sphenoid sinuses and some fluid in some of her other sinuses, he couldn’t detect anything obviously wrong.  Maisie had just finished her course of Augmentin a day or so before the visit so he didn’t want to immediately do another CT scan but instead has put Maisie on an antihistamine and a new steroid nasal spray and on April 13 she’ll have another CT scan to see if the infection and fluid are gone.

Oh, and the shorts she’s wearing we given to her by Caroline, one of the bigger girls she works out with at her gym.  They’re really cute and say “If Gymnastics were easy it would be called football.”  Maisie gets such a kick out of the saying.

Recently I was craving some Thai curry but I was too lazy to drive to my favorite place so I cooked at home and let me tell you, I rocked this recipe.  In addition I actually used a slow cooker  to make Slow Cooker Chicken Curry.  Using a crockpot is something I generally don’t do but it worked out wonderfully, the chicken was tender, moist and delicious and the sauce, well that was just gorgeous.  I will be making this recipe again and using the slow cooker too.  Just click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.

  1. This pollen is totally ridiculous! There is a yellow haze everywhere! Ugh!

  2. Good grief, you poor people down south! What is going on? How awful. I hope the count drops very soon!

Maisie looks adorable and sassy (as usual!) even at the doctor's office. Hope the new meds help.

  3. Awful pollen counts! Cannot imagine how miserable that must be! We're also enjoying freaky weather but in a really good way! Normally our temps right now are in the low 40's and we've been around 70-80 for almost 2 weeks! I'll take it!!!

LOL! Had to laugh at this, 'but I was too lazy to drive to my favorite place so I cooked at home.' I wish I had your energy and drive to cook. My drive comes in the car and I'd always choose take-out over cooking. Not healthy or economically a wise choice so I'll need to take some encouragement from you!

Hope your pollen counts drop soon and that Miss M gets some quick relief from her congestion.

  4. I laughed, too, about you being to tired to go get take-out and so you cooked! Cooking is the last thing I want to do when I'm tired. I WANT to be someone who loves cooking, but I'm honestly not. I'm a wannabe happy cook. I do love the crock pot, though! Because I'm lazy...
I hope Maisie improves. And I'm so sorry about those horrid pollen counts! Ick!

  5. I hate pollen. I only get a sinus headache, but Alex gets yucky. We aren't that high yet, but it is on the rise here too.

Your numbers are off the charts.

Ever heard of a place called Cedar Town in Georgia? My son's really good friend just left the MTC for his mission and that is his first area. THought I would ask for his mother.
