First day of third grade

first day 3rd gradeWhat can I say, my big girl started third grade today. How she can be in third grade already is beyond me…I mean it was only what, like two years ago when she was just a baby and we first saw her sweet little cue ball cutie referral picture. But I guess looking back through the blog and seeing all her first day of school pictures I’m just going to have to accept that my little Maisie Miao Miao is growing up…much faster than I’d like.

IMG_5322e[2] I haven’t updated, nor am I planning on updating, my Maisie Eats Bento blog but just for fun I took a picture of Maisie’s bento today. Maisie ate every drop of her meal and snack which consisted of Black Forest ham, carrot sticks, grapes, a cuties orange, fruit leather and a package of gim.

IMG_5332e[2]Maisie had a wonderful first day and was super excited when I picked her up from school. As soon as we got home she immediately sat at her new big girl desk and completed her homework. I think third grade is going to be an awesome school year for my girl.

Just to prove to myself that Maisie didn’t just come home to us a short time ago and that the past years really happened and that she really is in third grade, a trip down first day of school pictures memory lane.

Today was not only the first day of a new school year but I posted a new recipe over on Cook Lisa Cook for Thai Curry Shrimp with Shirataki Noodles. Super simple to make, great flavors, safe for Maisie's allergies, low carb and delicious eaten as cold leftovers for breakfast…shhhhh. Click on the link or the picture to be taken to Cook Lisa Cook and the recipe.

  1. Well, I love the look back! Such a cutie. Do they change the uniform every day or do they have different uniforms for each grade. I love the purple this year!

  2. 3rd grade is hard to believe! It's so much fun looking at the pics from past years, but why does the time go so darn fast. Our girls are getting way too big and I wish they could stay little. ;)

I see your recipe calls for shiratake noodles. I've been seeing them a lot lately since I'm on Weight Watchers, but after I read the reviews on Amazon from people who say they can't get past the smell I'm wondering what the heck they are made with and why is there a smell. Can you fill me in on what these noodles are?

  3. Maisie definitely looks older this year. Maybe it's the lack of bangs? Glad to hear she had a super first day of third grade. Such a smartie!
