Last night was our local adopters monthly get-together. Forty two people gathered at Classic Gourmet for an evening of fun, laughs, conversation and lots of food. It was so nice to visit and talk with those we've met before as well as the first-time attendees. We were all excited to meet Charleigh, the first and only child thus far, since our group started, that has joined her forever family. She charmed everyone, spent lots of time on my lap and gave wonderful hugs. We also got to share in the excitement over the referral of Emily, checking out all of her pictures and reports from China.
At the restaurant, we had a private room and the children were able to play with one another, blowing, chasing and popping bubbles. All the children were so well behaved and Jack was a star, keeping all the younger kids occupied with their bubbles and cars. The best eater award goes to Max Z. who must have visited the buffet line no less than a dozen time with at least that many trips again to the soft serve machine.
Quote of the night:
"You're never too old for bubbles!"

Oh now doesn't that look like a fun night!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could find a big and good Chinese buffet around here for our group. It just sounds ideal. I'll have to do some digging.
Cheers!
Lisa, my whole crew had a great time. You are just the Best. Thanks again for organizing this and for the treat bags.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I wish we lived closer so we could come too.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that we missed out. Next month - we are THERE! I promise unless travel prevents us.
ReplyDeleteLisa -
ReplyDeleteThanks for including Brent and I in the festivities. We enjoyed meeting everyone. See you next month!
Cindy
Oh I have to laugh. At our last travel group meeting the boys all sat together and slurped beer while swapping Beijing stories. They even had the audacity to move their little beer o'rama party to the pub next door. Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteAren't these meetings and friendships the best? Nobody understands the wait and adoption issues like other adoptive parents.
Lisa:
ReplyDeleteTag your it!! Please go to my blog to play along.
Thanks,
Lori
You look awfully good with those babies on your lap! Can't wait to see you with Baby S!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little jealous - I wish I lived closer to all of that fun.
