I really enjoyed being in San Antonio and helping my friend Judy with her cutie-patootie son Nathaniel Seth, I mean look at that sweet little face!
He was so soft and sweet and his favorite place to sleep was on my chest which brought back such wonderful memories of my little Maisie Miao Miao doing the exact same thing when she was little.
I loved having him in Maisie’s old Hip Hammock and holding him close when just hanging out and playing on my computer. Don’t you just love my multi-tasking abilities!
Nathaniel was even a perfect dinner companion, not making a peep and just looking sweet.
I could eat up his adorable little face.
I thought that I could maybe get him home with no one noticing. I mean look, he fit perfectly in my suitcase.
But Judy caught me before I could get away.
Even though exhausting I did enjoy my time with baby boy blue and I miss him but I was so happy Tuesday to return to my big girl Maisie Miao Miao. When I picked Maisie up at school we showered each other with kisses, it was so wonderful to see her and I swear that she grew while I was away. While in San Antonio I loved having sweet little Nathaniel Seth sleep on my chest but I loved even more being home and snuggling up to sleep with Maisie. I still can’t believe that I actually left her for four nights and though we both fared well, neither one of us looks forward to ever doing it again. I don’t think I’ll let her go to college or ever get married as I want to keep her with me always. Okay I know that can’t happen but a Mama can wish to keep her girl always close.
I was asked if being with Nathaniel Seth gave me baby fever and the answer is a big NO. I have never had the want or desire for an infant and though he was sweet, soft, warm and cuddly my time with him didn’t change that desire.
Also to those who questioned and commented on my previous post regarding my having to show Eammon where Maisie's school was located and how to do carpool, you don't know Maisie's school or my husband. Eammon can easily multiply two six-digit numbers in his head, explain the Higgs boson, quantum gravity and even string theory but don't ask him his social security number, to put on matching socks or do anything practical, especially during his work day. Maisie's school is extremely small, only about 160 students total from grades 5K - 12th. They don't do parent/teacher conferences nor have there ever been any programs or special events that Maisie participated in where there would have been a reason for Eammon go to the school. Combine that with the fact that Maisie's school is not local to us, it takes me an hour to do the round-trip for morning drop off and another hour to do afternoon pick up, she's there during Eammon's work day and his office is located in the exact opposite direction of her school. So NO, Eammon had never been to Maisie's school but he did great and followed my schedule perfectly while I was away…and now he knows where her school is located AND how to do carpool.
The zucchini in the garden grew like crazy while I was away because when I returned I found a giant one which was the length and girth of Eammon’s forearm. I’ve been in the mood for and thinking about my Zucchini Fritters but I decided to change up that recipe a bit, cutting out the carbs and adding some different flavors, so I made Bacon & Cheese Zucchini Fritters. The fritters were crazy good eaten hot but absolutely amazing eaten the following morning cold. One very interesting thing about these Bacon & Cheese Zucchini Fritters, no one who tried them had any idea that they were eating zucchini, they all thought that they were potato fritters as they tasted very similar to stuffed potato skins. What a wonderful way to get some healthy veggies into a veggie hating adult or child. I hope that you’ll give this recipe a go, just click on the link or the picture to be taken to Cook Lisa Cook and the recipe.
