Maisie Miao Miao is Seven!

IMG_5742e How can my sweet little Maisie Miao Miao be seven?  The years, they’ve passed so quickly, where have they gone?  Each year I say the same thing, that it seems like just a short time ago when we saw her cue ball cutie face for the first time and she was just a scared little 14 month old being placed in our arms.  Each year I also say that I can’t believe how grown up and mature she looks though it’s the same sweet face from when we first laid eyes on her.

Maisie is now a third grader, loving and excelling at school.  This week Maisie came home with her first quarter report card and teasing Eammon she told him that she didn’t get even a single ‘A’.  She then proudly showed him her report card with five A+ and one B+.  Needless to say, we’re oh-so proud of her.  Maisie still loves being at her gym and is having a fabulous season competing USA level 4.  For last Saturday’s meet Maisie set a goal for herself, to get an all-around score of 37.  She is one determined girl and not only met but exceeded her goal, having her best meet to date, with an all-around score of 37.625.

Each and every day I feel so lucky that Maisie’s my daughter and I adore watching her grow into the person she is and can only imagine the adult she’ll become.  Though I wish I could slow down time and keep her my wee little baby girl forever, I look forward to each new day with my girl seeing all that she is, does and accomplishes.  She is my A-Maisie-ing Maisie Miao Miao.

This week Maisie has a few fun things and celebrations planned.  Today she’s bringing special homemade Maisie “safe” marshmallow pops to school, to share with her classmates.  Keep an eye on Cook Lisa Cook as I’ll post that recipe soon.  Then later this afternoon Maisie will share some candy treats with her TOP’s teammates.  Tonight at dinnertime Eammon and I will celebrate with Maisie and she’ll open her gifts from us and my parents.  Tomorrow Maisie and her classmates are going on a field trip to Cagle’s and even though we were just there about a week ago with Briana & Chani she wanted to go again with her classmates.  This will be her first field trip where I am not a chaperone so a wee bit scary for me sending my little girl off but I know that she’ll be okay.  Thursday afternoon Maisie will bring in some treats to celebrate her birthday with her Level 4 teammates and then on Saturday she’s having a spa birthday party with some of her girlfriends.  I hope that Maisie enjoys all her celebrations and I wish her a fabulous year of being a seven year old.

Happy Birthday my sweet little Maisie Miao Miao, I love you more and more each and every day and each and every year.

So that I can prove to myself that Maisie really is seven and that the years have passed, here’s my sweet little girl on her birthday throughout the years.

I think for my darling’s birthday dinner I’ll make her one of her favorite foods, noodles.  Maisie really enjoyed when I made Thai Curry Shrimp with Shirataki Noodles, so I think that may be on the menu.  Click on the link or the picture to be taken to Cook Lisa Cook and the recipe.
