Today Maisie did her oral presentation on Abraham Lincoln before her first grade class, the kindergarten class, both teachers and a couple of Moms. Maisie has been super excited to present and has been talking about it and practicing for four long days. Her big day had finally arrived but it wasn’t until after all her other classmates made their American hero presentations as Maisie was last! She did sit and listen patiently but was happy when it was her turn. I think that maybe nerves kicked in a little for her because even though she had totally memorized her presentation she chose to keep checking her notes and at times forgot to keep the paper from in front of her face. She definitely was a lot more serious doing the actual presentation as compared to when she practiced and I missed her personality being there and especially the pretend shot to the head. I think that she did a great job as she spoke clearly, smoothly and at a good pace and I was one proud Mama sitting there watching my girl!
Presenting, Miss Maisie Miao as Abraham Lincoln
Maisie’s teacher Miss Lisa thought that Maisie did well so she earned full points in each category, a perfect 100% !!
Since Maisie did so well, after school I took her out for a special treat at the Pinkberry which recently opened near our home. We both enjoyed our first Pinkberry experience.
Maisie chose chocolate with gummy bears, animal cookies and crunchy chocolate bits.
Awesome! Way to go, Maisie. Be proud mommy and daddy!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, she did an INCREDIBLE job!!!! Way to go Maisie. Wow.
ReplyDeleteWow she is already in first grade? When did that happen? Way to go.
ReplyDeleteI am totally blown away by how well Maisie did her presentation. I don't know many children twice her age who can do that well. Se deserves that A.

ReplyDeleteWhere's the little girl? She seems so grown up and so adorable giving her speech.
ReplyDeleteThat was the cutest thing ever! I loved how she pronounced Emancipation Proclamation in such a sing song way - a big word(s) to pronounce! You have every right to be so proud!
