Are you a sheet snob?
Well if you answered yes to the questions above, this sweet little chalk faced gymnast proudly showing her team acceptance letter is asking for your help and has a deal for you!
Maisie is doing her first gymnastics booster club* fund-raiser and is selling 100% Egyptian cotton 1200 thread count sheets. They are made of high strength micro fiber yarns to stay soft and wrinkle-free for years to come. They are soft to the touch, easy care, no ironing necessary and have deep pocket for over sized mattresses. All sets include fitted, flat and four pillowcases. The 1200 thread count sheets are available in sizes full, queen & king with 12 color choices: white, black, cream, khaki, light grey, burgundy, mint, lilac, corn flower blue, gold, chocolate brown and terracotta (orange). Also available on a limited, first-come basis are twin sets which are 1000 thread count and available in four colors: white, ivory, dark blue and powder blue. The twin sets include fitted, flat and two pillow cases.
You are probably thinking these have to be at least $80+ a set but you would be wrong. All sizes are just $35.00 a set, What a deal!!! If you're not local the shipping charges for the sheets will be $12 for the first set and $3 for each additional set. (Shipping within the U.S. only)
Please ask all your family and friends if they need sheets as the more Maisie sells, the more money she makes to cover all her uniform & gymnastics meet charges!!
Please check your own household, check with parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends and even co-workers. Sheet sets make great gifts for Christmas, newlyweds, clients and graduation, think of all those Seniors who are getting ready to graduate and head off to college or a place of their own. Sheets aren't fattening like cookie dough and pizzas and you'll have them and enjoy them for years and years! Maisie and I truly would appreciate your support and help.
All orders must be placed and paid for by Wednesday, April 7 and I will receive the sheet sets the first week of May.
If you are interested in purchasing a set or more, please contact me at LisaShanahan@gmail.com and I will give you my PayPal information.
Thank you in advance for your support.
* The Booster Club, by its definition as a “non-profit” does not seek to make money, but is merely a pass-through entity to simplify paying the expenses of many athletes competing in gymnastics. The purpose of the Booster Club is to pay entry fees for the gymnasts to compete in gymnastics’ meets, to pay for and supply uniforms to the team, to organize and staff volunteers for Home Meets, to organize and pay for gymnasts’ travel at travel meets, and to cover any administrative expenses incurred by the Booster Club. These expenses will be covered by income received from parent donations, corporate sponsorships, program advertising, family/friend donations, and other fund raising efforts.

Sleeping beauty and cruise wear
I too have had a busy week as I have been on the search for clothing appropriate for our cruise. Maisie has oodles and oodles of clothes and other than a new pair of dressy shoes and well, a new Princess tiara that I couldn't resist, the girl is set. I on the other hand had nothing because back the beginning of winter I cleaned out my closet and gave away or donated every piece of clothing that I had so other than some winter clothes that I purchased at the beginning of the season I needed help. I now have some pants, tops, some sweaters and even a few pretty dresses for the evenings. All the dresses I purchased are very summery and though they'll be a little light for the cruise, they'll serve me well over the summer and I have little shrugs or Pashminas to go with all of them to help keep me warm. Here are piccies of a few of my favorites.
This one is my favorite and I have a little black shrug to wear with it to keep me warm.
For this one I have a nice Pashmina wrap.
Okay I love this Pink hydrangea sheath too, I think I'm loving flowers this season and the magenta shrug that I have to go with this is just perfect.
This Midnight paisley tiered dress is just fun and flirty and I can either wear my black shrug or the Pashmina.
In other news, I hurt my knee this week and spent a few days on crutches and limping around but after keeping off of it, keeping it elevated, lots of icing and some meds, thankfully it's doing better. I saw my doctor today and he's sending me to an orthopedist as my knees are both in pain and swollen with built-up fluid and they're doing way-too-much snap, crackle and pop so there's something going on. On a more positive note, I got my repaired camera back today so I'm a happy girl and look forward to taking some good pictures of my sweet little Maisie Miao Miao.

Cell phone pictures
Friday morning we met up with Kathy & Chani for lunch. It's been forever since we last saw them so it was great to catch up and spend a bit of time together.
After lunch we attended one of Maisie's classmate's birthday party. Maisie still isn't thrilled with jumpy places especially when there are a lot of children and it gets loud but she definitely enjoyed all the treats, cake and the juice box which is a rare treat for her.
Today Maisie enjoyed some playtime with K & A. First Maisie spent a few hours over at their house and then they all came over here to continue the playing.
Maisie and A looked so cute sharing one chair and working on the computer together.
We ended our day back over at K & A's house where Anne made a yummy dinner for all of us and we got to watch videos of their recent Disney cruise, the same ship that Maisie and I will be sailing on in just 20 days...so much to do and so little time, oh my!
We're ready for the upcoming week and looking forward to enjoying all our activities and hopefully some good warm weather.

Making the best of it
Two different Princess shoes and spending time playing on her computer made a rainy and dreary day fun and interesting for little Maisie Miao Miao.
I've been reduced to using my little purse camera as my SLR camera has been giving me some problems so it's in for repairs. I really miss it and hope that the problem is something that can be easily & quickly repaired as we leave on our cruise in just 29 days!! I need help from anyone who has done a transatlantic cruise as to what I need to pack as far as clothing. I know it will be quite cool on the water and the average temps for this time of year in our ports (Funchal Madeira, Portugal; Cadiz Seville, Spain; Gibraltar and Barcelona, Spain) appears to be in the 60's but that could be warm or cold depending on the sun/wind and rain. I am so at a loss as to what we'll need to wear so any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Go-Maisie-Go!!
Here's Maisie just home from her practice with chalk on her face, holding her team invitation letter. The letter states that 'USA Level 2 is a competitive training group and the program competes under the guidance and affiliation of USA Gymnastics. The girls learn routines designed by USA Gymnastics and participate in competitions with other gymnastics training centers in Georgia.' Holy moly, I can't believe that Maisie will be competing this year!! Maisie loves gymnastics and I hope that she loves and enjoys competing and does well with it. One thing I know that she'll love is that starting in April her twice weekly practices will be longer at 3 hours per day but for her, the more time at the gym, her favorite place to be, will make her a very happy girl.
It's actually been two days of good news for Maisie as yesterday she brought home her mid-term report card and she continues to do well at school. Her teacher states that Maisie is a very bright and conscientious student and that she really enjoys having Maisie in her class.
Go-Maisie-Go, you are A-MAISIE-NG!!

Bath time
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* Bathtub Crayons
1 cup grated Ivory soap from a bar (NOT the laundry soap)
1/4 cup warm water
4-6 drops food coloring
Mix water, soap and food color together in medium bowl. Stir till the mixture begins to stiffen. Remove mixture from the bowl and knead until it is the consistency of a very thick dough. Spoon crayon mix into cookie molds or plastic ice cube trays and then place the crayons into the freezer for about 10 minutes. Pop the crayons out and allow to dry overnight or until hard. Maisie loves to write on herself and since these are soap they get her nice and clean!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
** Bathtub Finger Paints
1/3 cup clear mild liquid dish detergent
1 Tbs. cornstarch
food coloring
muffin tin or ice cube tray
Mix the soap and cornstarch together and then pour the mixture, in equal parts, into several sections of a muffin tin or plastic ice cube tray. Add one or two drops of food coloring to each section of the tray and mix to get the desired color.
I have not had any problems with the food coloring staining our tub as Maisie doesn't let it stay on the walls very long, but that doesn't mean it won't stain yours so test before using.

A little attitude and a lot of excitement!!
Maisie looked absolutely adorable dressed and ready to go out with me this afternoon. I love when Maisie can wear things other than her school uniform or a leotard!
My girl always has a bit of attitude but she pulls it off so well.
As for excitement, Maisie and I are over-the-top excited as I just booked us on a 14-day transatlantic Disney cruise. In just a mere 35 days we'll visiting Castaway Cay; Funchal Madeira, Portugal; Cadiz Seville, Spain; Gibraltar and Barcelona, Spain WOOHOO the countdown has begun!!
And this picture is just because she's my cutie-patootie and looked adorable this morning sporting her cream cheese moustache.

Waking up...Well maybe...
Where's Maisie??
Could that be her?
I think I see her.
There's my sweet sleepy girl.
Oh I don't want to wake up...stretch!
I'm up...
Well maybe...
Oh not so much!
I'm still so very tired.
Look how comfy this bed and all the pillows are, let me stay...
You're not going to let me sleep are you??
I'm getting up.
Just let me wipe the sleep from my poor tired eyes.
Did someone say treat??
Today I posted Maisie's 200th bento on Maisie Eats Bento. I didn't do a big 200 theme or anything but it was a very cute bento...if I do say so myself.

Snow, yet again!
So yesterday we ended up with 2-3 inches of snow but thankfully the roadways stayed mainly clear. By the time Maisie awoke from her nap the snow had stopped but there was a light rain falling so it really wasn't great weather to play outside. We did go out for a bit but the snow was already melting and it was an extremely wet snow which wasn't fun to play with, so we didn't stay out long. Maisie was excited to be out and be in the snow but was even happier when she headed over to K & A's for some playtime.
Today our county had a 2-hour delayed start time for all the schools because of all the snow melting and freezing on the roads over night so Maisie's (private) school followed suit. By the time we headed off this morning the roads were completely clear and the sun was shining but it's still way too cold for my liking. Things are looking up though as the extended forecast shows temps going up to the 60's with plenty of sunshine, happy days!!!

Homework
Maisie just loves school but even more, adores homework! Each day a small book is sent home from school with her and she’s supposed to read as many pages as will hold her attention. For Maisie, that always means the entire book and not just once but multiple times. When I first pick her up she’ll read the book to me in the car as I drive home and then when we first get in the house she’ll again read her book to me as we snuggle together before nap. Then after nap if we're not rushing out to gymnastics or swimming she'll read it to me yet again. At bedtime I get to hear the book one more time and then the next morning before school she likes to get in a final reading during breakfast. I love to read and I'm so delighted that Maisie does too and hopefully her desire and love of reading will continue throughout her life.
Maisie looked so adorable reading her book this morning I just had to snap a piccie...or two.
Thinking about the story she just read.
After nap today Maisie had fun doing a bit of work on her computer. Eammon finally got Maisie's computer all sorted out and she's thrilled to have a computer of her own.
New recipe on Cook Lisa Cook, Mulligatawny soup, check it out!
