Eighteen hours in London

IMG_4436eJust how our flights worked out, we were able to take a short 18 hour layover in London which worked out great as Maisie hadn’t seen her Grandmother or her Aunts & Uncles since we were last in London back in December 2009.

IMG_4441eMaisie’s Uncle Tim met us at the airport and we went back to his house where we spent the night with him & Aunt Jenny.

IMG_4434eAunt Ruth & Uncle Don made a special trip over to see Maisie.

IMG_4442eMaisie gave her Grandma some chocolates and a stuffed bear.

IMG_4444eGrandma was pleased with the gifts but much more pleased to see Maisie.

After a much too short visit and sleep we were back at Heathrow boarding our flight to the US.  Maisie and I flew to Orlando where my parents picked us up and took us back to their home where we spent the night before driving back to Georgia the following day. 

It was a fabulous vacation all around, the cruise, the cities we visited, the friends we made and the family we visited but it was wonderful to get home and back to reality. 

The other nice thing about being home was, whatever favorite foods I craved I could easily make like my Baked Egg & Avocado…YUM!!  Avocados have been on sale lately and this is a fabu way to enjoy them.  Just click on the link or the picture to be taken to the recipe.

  2. You all have the most wonderful trips!! I am so jealous! Maisie is probably the most well traveled kid I know. I'm sure she loves every minute of it. Glad you got to have the layover in London (albeit a short one) to visit with family!
