School Easter egg hunt

Maisie and I are still enjoying spring break in Florida, sitting on the white sand in Naples and enjoying the warm gulf water.  A post about that is coming soon…hopefully soon.  As usual I’m way behind in my posting, just never enough hours in the day and so many other things keeping me too busy to blog so another catch up post here before I forget.

Last Thursday before spring break Maisie enjoyed a fun Easter lunch and egg hunt with all of her school mates.

IMG_3817eAfter lunch Sean, Maisie and Rylie waited patiently for the real fun to begin.

IMG_3838eLet the hunt begin.

IMG_3854eMaisie was discerning in the eggs she chose and really took her time only picking up the ones she wanted.

IMG_3871eEach child was allowed to pick up 18 eggs.

The picture below is from last years Easter egg hunt when Maisie was in first grade.  Notice anything similar?

IMG_6690[1] Yep, she’s wearing the same sweater and carrying the same basket.

IMG_0091 Though she didn’t wear the sweater the day of her Kindergarten Easter egg hunt she did have and wear the very same sweater she’s still wearing that year.  Here she is with her Kindergarten classmates with the same Easter basket she’s now carried three years running.

There’s a new recipe posted today on Cook Lisa Cook for Skinny Blueberry Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins.  I made these muffins for my Crazy Cooking Challenge as this month all the participating bloggers were challenged to find the ultimate blueberry muffin recipe.  I really wanted to participate in the challenge but as I’m anaphylaxis allergic to blueberries and Maisie has her food allergies and Eammon just really doesn’t need to be eating muffins, I decided to make these as a special treat for Maisie’s teacher Miss. Lisa.  Eammon did try one of the muffins as did my friend Sophie and it was thumbs up from both of them and Lisa on these muffins.  So if you’re looking to cut fat, calories or doing Weight Watchers, check this recipe out by clicking on the picture.

  1. How fun to have an Easter egg hung at school! But poor Maisie, not being able to eat the treats. I loved your solution of dollar store treats instead.

Maisie is like Linlee; can wear the same outfits for two or three years in a row. Tiny, slow growing girls!

  2. What a fun egg hunt! You are such a great mom, Lisa - like Colleen, I love that you took her to the dollar store to replace her treats.
I LOVE Maisie's sweater, too - so glad she is getting a LOT of use out of it! :)
